Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Lasers, or "Low Level Lasers", are a non-invasive, safe and highly effective way to help treat pain and other ailments. The goal of cold laser therapy is to deliver light energy units from infrared laser radiation, called photons, to damaged cells. It is the consensus of experts is that photons absorbed by the cells through laser therapy stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate production of ATP. This biochemical increase in cell energy is used to transform live cells from a state of illness to a stable, healthy state. (Source: www.dentalstim.com)

iTero Digital Impression Scanner

This state-of-the-art scanner removes the hassle and discomfort of taking and re-taking traditional dental impressions. With the iTero Digital Impression Scanner, the dentist does not need to apply powder onto the patient's teeth. Instead, the scanner simply rests on the patient's teeth and captures 3D imaging of the bite. The dentist can then make real-time adjustments and transmit the file digitally. This technology has been shown to create more accurate restorations, which has practically eliminated the need for remakes. It has also been shown to reduce the time of seating appointments by 22%. We're also able to show our Invisalign patients a simulated outcome of what their teeth may look like at the end of treatment.

Joint Vibration Analysis

TM Joint Vibration Analysis is a quick, non-invasive method for your dentist to examine how your jaw joints function. The vibration from each patient is like your own personal signature - determined by loudness, duration and frequency.

Our office uses a new device called Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA) to help determine if patients have a TM joint (jaw joint) problem. Joint Vibration Analysis has the acceptance of the American Dental Association. The dentist has the primary responsibility for diagnosing disorders of this particular joint. Utilizing the JVA procedure aids the dentist in making an accurate diagnosis and demonstrates the severity level of the disorder.

Electrognathology

Electrognathology is the evaluation of the patterns of jaw movement during normal opening and closing chewing, swallowing and speech. These measurements are taken through the application of a small magnet to the lower front teeth and detecting sensor arrays.

By combining the Jaw Tracker (JT) and the JVA we are able to record the lower jaw movements and TMJ functionally, which produces enormous amounts of diagnostic information. Jaw Tracking is a completely non-invasive procedure as all that it involves is placing a headset on the patient and affixing a small magnet to the lower front teeth.

Pharyngometer

This tool sends sound waves down the throat, noting its diameter, collapsibility, and problem spots.

If a problem is discovered, your dentist can fit you with the oral appliance, fitting it effectively with the Eccovision to position the airway correctly, allowing for maximum patency (airway muscle strength and openness).

If your dentist finds a problem, you are treated with an FDA-certified oral appliance. Its purpose? To make sure your airway stays in optimal breathing position while you sleep. The good news is that you only have to wear it at night.

Tek-Scan Computerized Occlusal Analysis

Tek-Scan Computerized Occlusal Analysis is a computerized occlusal analysis system that helps in the diagnosis and correction of occlusal disease (bite problems). A sensor is placed in the patient's mouth and a 'movie' is recorded of the biting process. Adjustments to the bite can be made to center and equalize the bite.

The Velscope Oral Cancer Screening

With your consent, at each routine hygiene visit our hygienist uses the Velscope in conjunction with a physical exam to detect any signs of oral cancer before they are visible to the naked eye. Though it's unfortunate, we've successfully diagnosed several of our patients since we've owned the Velscope and helped them to find the correct treatment necessary.
